Situated on a slight hill, our client wanted to erase the embankment at the rear of the dwelling. The design is based around a central circular lawn and using an extremely functional retainer wall system that is surrounded by a densely planted border. A large part of the site has been reclaimed resulting in a large seeded lawn on a higher level.

In one area the outdoor dining space sits opposite the newly constructed circular lawn which is also connected via paving steps to the larger lawn area. In the other direction we developed a confined astro turf area to accommodate a play area for children in full view of window area from the kitchen and dining areas.

The garden outcome has created a sense of secluded whilst making the most of the large area of landscape. The planting is densely arranged to provide an abundance of summer colour with stems and seed heads  adding structure in the winter. The various garden areas have created a subtle adventure and provides increased areas for flexible seating areas to dining areas. The open circular lawn creates a sense of space and allows the planting to be appreciated in its different forms as the light and aspect of the garden change.
